VOTE FOR PINK RIBBON GIRLS OF DAYTON’S VIDEO IN PINK WELL CHALLENGE
Pink Ribbon Girls of Dayton, an organization servicing breast cancer survivors in nine counties in the Miami Valley, is among 30 finalists vying for your votes in the video voting portion of the Pink Well Challenge.
Dreamed up by Texas oilman, philanthropist and two-time cancer survivor Lester H. Smith, the Pink Well Challenge is a national campaign offering $1 million in matching grants to organizations engaged in breast cancer research, prevention, treatment and patient support. The organizations with the most video votes and the most funds raised overall will each receive an additional $50,000 prize. Pink Ribbon Girls of Dayton was selected as a “Top 30” finalist from over 150 applicants from all over the country and is the only nonprofit selected from Ohio.
All finalists created four minute videos about their organization. Nova Creative, a marketing firm in Dayton with clients such as the Dayton International Airport, stepped up to the plate to really capture the essence of Pink Ribbon Girls of Dayton.
“Nova was very honored to be a part of the initiative and our creative team was both inspired and moved by Pink Ribbon Girls as we worked through the design process,” said Natalie Maxwell, Account Executive with Nova Creative. “Our offices served as recording studio as we captured the narratives from survivors, husbands, families, children and friends---we can't wait for the voting to start as we'll be first at the click!” she continued.
Starting January 16,voters can visit www.pinkwell.org to view the clips and vote for Pink Ribbon Girls of Dayton. The organization that receives the most video votes will receive $50,000 in additional grants from The Lester and Sue Smith Foundation. Each day, voters can cast one vote for every valid Facebook, Twitter and/or email address in their name. With this system in place, supporters can cast multiple votes per day. Remember, it is against the Pink Well Challenge rules to create new accounts specifically for voting purposes. Voting will continue through May 15, 2012 with special bonus voting weeks throughout that time period.
“We hit the ground running with a big dream, great team, and the passion and perseverance to make this happen,” said Heather Salazar, Executive Director and Founder of Pink Ribbon Girls of Dayton.
“The additional money that can result from this voting would be a huge win for our Miami Valley community and we encourage all of our supporters to vote daily and often,” she continued.
The winner of the video voting portion of the challenge, along with other Pink Well winners, will be announced on June 2, 2012 in a special ceremony honoring National Cancer Survivors Day.
